Four Takes, 2023-24

Four Takes”, meaning to carry a theme into four parts, is a term I borrowed from the Beat poet, Diane di Prima, I am also reminded of Rashomon, the old Kurosawa film whose premise asked the question: What if I told this story from three different points of view? Like Kurasawa, I began this on-going series with questions: What if I limit my palette and imagery? What if I push the same elements into different directions? How do they change with different media? How can I make these interesting compositionally without too much repetition or predictability?  How does the experience change with the point of view? I hope they read as visual poetry.
